About The Role

South Essex Lymphoedema Service - Lymphoedema Specialist Practitioner

Hours / Term: 37.5 per week (with some flexibility required in respect of arrangement of hours)

Salary: SL15 - up to c.£34,000

Location: St Lukes Hospice with Satellite Working at venues throughout South Essex and Home Visits

This exciting role is part of South East Essex Lymphoedema Service (SELS).  The service covers South Essex providing specialist Lymphoedema advice, management, support and clinics as well as groups and home visits.

You will be part of a team with responsibility for holding a caseload, will contribute to development of the service and will care for the specific assessed needs of individuals with Lymphoedema, providing information, advice and psychological support.  You will have both organisational and clinical responsibilities including provision of support and advice to Lymphoedema Therapists and Support Workers in the Hospice and community and acting as an expert resource, working closely with the Integrated Therapy Services Coordinator.

     

About The Candidate

You should be a qualified health professional, (i.e. physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or registered nurse) with holistic assessment and long term conditions experience within palliative care (full training in lymphoedema management will be given if required).  A lymphoedema qualification or equivalent, MLD certificate are all desirable as is a degree level qualification or a willingness to work towards this. You should also demonstrate sound knowledge in the principles of Lymphoedema Management, ensuring optimum standards for patients.

A valid clean driver’s licence and use of vehicle is essential.
