About the Role
North Watford PCN are looking to welcome an experienced advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) into our busy group of practices, to support the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care. 
 

The successful candidate will join a team of PCN staff and will receive ongoing educational and professional support.

The main responsibilities of the role include:
 
  • Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced, autonomous clinical skills and a broad, in-depth, theoretical knowledge-base;
  • Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients’ conditions, initiating direct referrals, as appropriate;
  • Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues;
  • Developing innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population;
  • Advancing patient health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills;
  • As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication, as defined by current legislative framework;
  • Leading and undertaking research and audits;
  • Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students;
  • As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

About the Candidate
The successful candidate will:
 
  • be a registered general practice nurse, holding current registration with the NMC;
  • hold a recognised ANP qualification at master's level;
  • hold an independent prescriber qualification;
  • be able to work with a high degree of autonomy;
  • be confident in leading in a variety of settings: your leadership of others will also enable you to use and further develop your teaching and mentoring experience/qualifications;
  • be forward-thinking and will strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same;
  • be an excellent communicator and collaborator;
  • embrace opportunities to work and liaise with others, across multi-professional and multi-agency boundaries, in the interests of improving patient outcomes;
  • be consistently compassionate and respectful, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.

We  are a small innovative PCN based and one of the practices is renowned for their excellent teaching reputation.  
 
We have progressed well with the national recruitment agenda and have already recruited Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, a Paramedic and a Mental Health Link Worker.
