Barrack Lane Medical Centre is a busy practice in the town centre of Ipswich, Suffolk. We have a practice population of approximately 20,000 patients. The practice is based on two sites, the main surgery in the middle of the town and a branch surgery at Stoke Park in Ipswich.
The practice has a clinical team including GPs, advanced nurse practitioners and care practitioners, pharmacists, physician associate, paramedics, pharmacy technicians and a team of practice nurses and HCA. This team is efficiently supported by an administrative, coding and care navigating team.
Barrack Lane is a training practice: the practice trains GPs and medical students from university (UEA) to help provide doctors for the future.
Barrack Lane is part of a PCN (primary care network) with Ivry Street Medical Centre in Ipswich, and the two practices cover a population of approximately 33,000 patients. A PCN allows practices to share resources and offer an enhanced service to our patients. The PCN employs care co-ordinators and social prescribers to work with patients to enable them to access the best care.
The PCN is very proud to have offered a vaccination service during Covid-19 and carried out just under 100,000 vaccinations to our own patients and patients of other Suffolk practices, including vaccinations for patients at home.
The practice offers you:
- NHS pension scheme
- Annual leave: minimum 30 days and bank holidays, pro rata
- Study leave as appropriate for the role
