About The Role

In partnership with Canvey Island Primary Care Network (PCN), GP Healthcare Alliance (a federation of GP practices in Castle Point and Rochford) is hosting an innovative service to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to focus on improving the health and wellbeing of patients within the Canvey Island PCN.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated Physician Associate to work in partnership with the PCN Clinical Auditor and Healthcare Assistant to support chronic disease management. By introducing this service, patients will have easy access to a comprehensive health and wellbeing support for management of their chronic disease and creating greater patient satisfaction.

This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week covering the Canvey Primary Care Network which is made up of the following practices:
  • The Surgery, Hawkesbury Road
  • Grafton Surgery
  • Third Avenue Surgery
  • Oaklands Surgery
  • The Island Surgery
  • Dr Ratnasingham Surgery

About The Candidate
If you are a qualified and experienced Physician Associate looking for a new and exciting change in career then we would love to hear from you.
 
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
  • The appropriate individual will be a qualified Physician Associate with a postgraduate diploma/master in Physician Associate (formally Physician Assistant with a bachelor degree in Life Science/Biomedical/Nursing or Allied Health Science).
  • Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates of the RCP, which includes UK Physician Associate Registration (the PA Managed Voluntary Register);
  • Current and valid certification or re-certification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination;
  • Experience of working in a medicine environment, including preventative medicine and chronic disease management;
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to a varied and high volume workload with the ability to multi-task and to work under pressure;
  • Consistently compassionate and respectful approach placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, nurses, other staff and agencies;
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
