About The Role
The Primary Care Network (PCN) comprising Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Health Centre & Ardleigh Surgery (ARA)  is currently looking to recruit an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team.
The role will include, but is not limited to:
  • To support the GP Partners and Clinical team to manage a busy and diverse clinical caseload.
  • To provide patient care to a high standard and ensure work meets or exceeds the CQC standards as well as our Code of Conduct.
  • To support the ColTe Partnership to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, reducing medicines waste and maximising patient outcomes.
  • To support the Clinical Pharmacist in their work specific to The ColTe Partnership and with any work related to Local Enhanced Service contracts for Medicines that we are signed up to as a PCN.
  • To oversee the administration of prescribing at the Practice, to include supervision of the Prescribing Clerks and any of the Patient Services Team assigned to support the administration of prescribing.
  • To also take responsibility for processes and procedures for administration of prescribing and the development of policies in collaboration with your Clinical Mentor and the PCN Pharmacist.

About The Candidate
The post holder must have a good level of education, including Maths and English and be a registered member of the GPhC with at least 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician and experience of supervision/ leadership on projects. It is desirable that the post holder has experience of supervising staff, but this is not essential.
The post holder must have experience of dealing with patients face to face in clinics as well as over the telephone and digitally. The post holder must have experience of working within a diverse team with multiple disciplinaries and be able to liaise with clinical and admin staff with the Practice. The post holder is required to have experience of using computer systems including clinical systems, such as SystmOne and EMIS Web. 
The post holder is required to have knowledge of law and guidelines around medicines and the Code of Conduct. The post holder must have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing as well as strong knowledge of a high level of confidentiality. The post holder must have experience of liaising with the PCN Clinical Pharmacist and be able to escalate issues to them.

The Colte Partnership is a super-partnership established in 2017, bringing together 9 GP Practices across Colchester and Tendring to provide healthcare to approx. 95,000 patients across the county.

The Partnership is split into 3 Primary Care Networks (PCNs), composed of 3 Practices in each. The three PCNs within the Partnership are as follows:
